Come exercise, relax at Ai Chi Day
Strengthen the body. Unclutter the mind. Rejuvenate the spirit. Join us for Ai Chi Day, a Japanese warm water exercise and relaxation program, from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. Monday in Aberdeen at Avera St. Luke’s Physical & Aquatic Therapy Center, 721 First Ave. SE.
This evening is free and open to the public, allowing people to experience total body relaxation in an efficient exercise program. Participants will be doing Ai Chi in the region’s largest warm water pool, but it’s not necessary to know how to swim. Have fun and relax! Ai Chi improves flexibility and mobility and boosts caloric consumption with flowing movements and simple breathing in the 92-degree water temperature.
Vicki Holley of Avera St. Luke’s is a certified Ai Chi instructor and will be leading the Ai Chi Day activities. She also teaches Ai Chi “Fitness for Mind and Body” classes from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. Tuesday nights at Avera St. Luke’s Physical & Aquatic Therapy Center. The next session runs Aug. 10-31. Cost is $16 for a four-week session.
