Avera St. Luke’s Laboratory Department provides 24-hour service to our hospital, as well as to hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes in Aberdeen and surrounding communities.

Our laboratory is federally licensed by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) and is surveyed for compliance to these standards by the South Dakota Department of Health. Avera St. Luke’s Laboratory is under the medical direction of Larry Alexander, MD, a board-certified pathologist.

Our laboratory is also a member of the Avera Laboratory Network, Avera Health’s reference laboratory services.

Laboratory Services are located on the second floor of Avera St. Luke’s East Wing.
